Launched in November 2011, The Informant website is a showpiece of modern web development.

Designed as a complement to the existing weekly newspaper, the website allows Thoroughbred Publications to reach a wider audience, including overseas punters and subscribers who would otherwise have trouble receiving the paper edition in a timely manner.

The website is designed to scale gracefully from mobile phones and tablets all the way to large monitors, following the new development philosophies of responsive web design and mobile first. It also includes hi-res graphics to take advantage of the new HiDPI screens which are now becoming available, the iPhone 4 and 4S being the first main stream examples.
